the latest news from Snapdragon Edinburgh
Spring is generally such a great season; with longer days, warmer weather (slightly!) and a renewed feeling of optimism it somehow manages to give us all. Spring flowers are pushing through outside including daffodils, crocus and tulips. Bring a little springtime indoors with our Tulip bouquet pictured above which uses strong vibrant energising colours.
For florists’ and flower lovers it is even more special as it’s the season of the year when the range of flowers and foliage that are most fragrant are widely available: hyacinths, lilac, mimosa, freesia, waxflower, lavender, eucalyptus and herbs such as rosemary. So, to showcase these gorgeous things we have created a scented posy (pictured below) using some of these wonderful blooms especially for Mother’s Day. It will make the perfect gift for the most special lady and comes in its own glass posy vase, ready for Mum to simply set in place and enjoy! Our carefully created range of botanically inspired Mother’s Day gifts are available.
Also for Mother’s Day itself on Sunday 26th March we are delighted to be collaborating with the talented team atWonderhouse and with the fabulous Tigerlily on George Street for a very special Mother’s Day event, including a Snapdragon Edinburgh pop-up at the venue.
Lucky Mums will enjoy a delicious lunch at Tigerlily and included will be a posy from Snapdragon and a mini bottle of Chambord black raspberry liqueur for mum to take home! £22.95 for two courses or £27.95 for three courses includes an award-winning Tigerlily cocktail. You can find more details here
We also have some exciting new homewares to add to our range!
Instore soon will be a selection from THG ceramics. Tom Hopkins- Gibson is a supremely talented artist, based in the West of Scotland who works in wood and ceramic. His bowls and vases are perfect for flowers, plants and candles and from my first bowl bought several years ago in London I was hooked. Tom’s porcelain pieces are made using wooden formers, the resulting pieces showing clearly where they come from but become something different in the firing process, the fragility of the timber being “fossilised” in the kiln. His unique pieces are not available anywhere else in Edinburgh, so pop into the Bruntsfield shop soon and see for yourself. When they are instore we’ll post a gorgeous image on social media.
Also new to Snapdragon Edinburgh is beautiful glassware from Garden Trading. Their philosophy is to design and produce functional, attractive and stylish products for the home and garden; useful items that are made to a high quality that will stand the test of time. They also strive to make products using responsibly sourced materials, within the EU wherever possible and from ethically-responsible manufacturers. We plan to extend our range soon as they also have wonderful pots and containers for plants and garden accessories.
We’ll leave you with another lovely image from our Mother’s Day collection, the Florists’ Bucket, held by our very own Morgan! It’s a quirky little zinc florist’s bucket filled with beautiful flowers, foliage and textural elements giving an informal, country-style arrangement in ivory, pale pink and soft greens. Rose, spray rose, ranunculus and eryngium thistle work together so well!
Happy Spring from all of us at Snapdragon Edinburgh x
